December

1. December already! Time goes so quickly — this time last year I was celebrating getting this job, as well as planning an elaborate NYE party. Which was kick-ass, might I add. Wish I was back in Sydney for this year’s NYE, but then I think it might’ve been too expensive to top last year’s effort anyway.

2. In just one week I will be flying to Indonesia. Between now and then, I have farewell drinks for a student tonight, something tomorrow night, my school’s Christmas party on Sunday, dinner on Monday, and a work training in Fukuoka Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be spent working and hastily doing Christmas related stuff, as well as packing for Indo (something that I had forgot about until today when I was making my todo lists). It’s gonna be a crazy week, even by last week’s standards!

3. Last week was a big week, where the drinking started on a Thursday night, for a mate that’s heading home. That morphed into post-work farewell drinks on the Friday night, an early morning farewell/happy birthday bender on the Saturday, which became a Sunday birthday party, which became Monday arvo chill out followed by farewell dinner on Monday night for another friend that was leaving. Between the farewell-happy birthday-farewell tears and beers, we all had a pretty good time.

4. It’s sad seeing so many people go, but then it’s a hazard of the job. People are constantly coming and going, and while sad, it means you can meet a whole lot of new people without going anywhere. Such is life, I suppose.
